The place we had booked in advance via phone, for our stay in Nawalgarh was
Shekhawati Guest House. It is a family run guest house with exceptinally charming and helpful hosts. The Guest house has standard rooms and cottages, with the latter being the preferred choice. There are a number of cottages arranged in a circular fashion in the center of a farm, about 200meters from the main guest house and family living quarters. The cottages are very nicely built and decorated and are clean and comfortable. Bathrooms are nice.
Staying in the center of a vast farm is a unique experience. Food is freshly cooked and excellent. Unfortunately however at night it becomes extremely cold and there is presently no provisions for a room heater. Another slight downside is the apparent lack of security, being alone in the middle of an open field is not very comforting. Probably when we were there, the only watchman was on leave.
